It’s NYFW…don’t over think it.
I snagged this graphic tee a few days before leaving before NYFW even though I didn’t follow it’s bold black sequined advice. “Don’t over think it!” I’ve never spent more time planning my outfits for a trip in my life and this one was a quick 3 day jaunt to NYC. I mean, I’m typically packing for three girls for much longer vacays. Side note, I’m not the best packer. I’ll cram in 10 pair of shoes for 7 days and then forget to pack pajamas. Ahhh. What I really needed for my trip is this wool coat and these boots and a fur to escape NYC’s polar vortex without frostbite. Instead, I brought all of my favorite bright colored pumps and frolicked around Lincoln Center like it was May 1st. Yep, record lows in New York during the coldest month of the year and I’m wearing this dress. But at the time I was running on so much adrenaline I really don’t remember feeling that cold. I’m sure my fashion week blogger pals will remind me that I said “I’m freezing” at least 787 times in 3 days. The numbness is finally returning to my fingers so I can blog again. But after the chaos of planning, packing, cabbing from one end of Manhattan to the other multiple times a day, running on fumes, and freezing for fashion I can’t stop thinking about doing it all again next year.
outfit details: coat / tee, also like this outfit with a striped top / skirt, available here / booties, these were my original plan but then it was 4 degrees in NYC / bag / cuff bracelets / sunglasses also love these
p.s. The Shoe Diet and I interviewed with Marie Claire, and gave Texas all the credit for our bright color inspiration. My 3 seconds of fame is about 43 seconds into this video. Ha! Fun times, #freezingforfashion.
