What’s the game plan, 2016?

January 4, 2016

Happy new year, guys! I’ve taken a little week long blog sabbatical to recharge the battery and it’s been so nice spending quality time with my hubs and littles. We rang in 2016 in Santa Barbara I managed to unplug minus a few Instagram posts. I find so much inspiration in Santa Barbara so it was impossible not to share a little of that on social media.  I actually really missed my daily blog sessions, it’s been such an unexpectedly big part of my life this past year. I guess that’s a good sign to keep on keeping on with this third child of mine. Over the past few weeks of calm, I’ve reflected on the past year of welcomed chaos (a little more of that here). Even though I was super pleased with the first year of this blog, there’s still so much I want to accomplish in year two. And I can’t think of a better time to move full speed ahead than hitting the reset button on day 4 of the new year.

Time has always been L. Avenue’s worst enemy (isn’t it everyones?). I blog most mornings when the girls are in school and during nap-time and then again after they go to bed, minus evenings where Homeland, the Bachelor and Scandal take precedence of course. But there just never seems to be enough time. This year I’m working on being a better time manager and hopefully hiring an intern. You have anybody in mind?! I want to bring you guys more outfit ideas, more and better sale posts and last but certainly not least the travel posts I’ve reference more than once. I want L. Avenue Travel to be a place where you can easily plan a weekend away without putting a lot of work into doing your own research homework. I’ll do it for you. Laying the groundwork for my travel guides kind of feels like prepping to paint your house. The prep work takes the lion’s share of the time and then suddenly the new paint is there in a blink. So the guides are in progress, but there’s still tape on the walls. Anyway, this is getting longer than you probably have time to read, so with that, here’s my first outfit post of 2016!

This poncho has been on major repeat this fall. I wear it on it’s own and layer a long sleeve tee when it’s colder. It’s easy and comfy and cozy and would be cute with leggings too. I dressed mine up a little with my very favorite new booties. But this sweater is just as cute with sneakers for a long day on your feet.
