Bret and I flew to DC for a quick weekend to celebrate my best friend’s engagement. DC fall is so magical y’all. I lived in DC for two years in what feels like another lifetime ago aka my 20’s. I’ve been back a few times since, but haven’t made it back to my old neighborhood in Georgetown and this trip I was determined to fill the soul with a little nostalgia. I shared an apartment with Laura, my best friend from growing up. It was the perfect single girl spot, a tiny two bedroom, 3rd floor walk up. Our hall coat closet was quickly transformed into a shoe closet and we stored sweaters in our oven. Ha! Our place was on a sleepy little street and if you look up charming in the dictionary, Dent Place is written next to it. Anyway, it was fun to bop around Georgetown during such a beautiful time of year!
Today’s outfit reminds me of fall foilage with deep green velvet skinny pants and golden mules. I questioned the velvet on velvet and decided what the heck! What do y’all think? I love mixing textures and a delicate lace top seemed to compliment this outfit, and it’s a great top to layer warmer layers over; I’ve worn a faux fur vest, blazer and duster jacket over this top so far this season.
Where is your favorite place to be/visit in the fall?
