For a lot of us, this week is spring break. Yipppeee! Over the weekend, we road tripped to our friend’s ranch, our first trip as a family of 5. I’m still laughing at how packed the car was, weighed down with baby contraptions, kid toys and golf clubs of course! The kids were in heaven with fishing, gator rides, and even some pretty crazy bullfrog episodes. Nature felt so good (minus a snake sighting!) and I made a point to totally unplug from all things electronic for the weekend. I thought I would miss it more, but after getting over the initial knee jerk reactions to check my phone I wanted nothing to do with it aside from snapping a few photos and videos. I thought I’d be chomping at the bit to dive back into blogging and social media this week, but decided to give myself a little more distance from devises. And it’s been fantastic. I do miss knowing where all of y’all are spring breaking though!

We decided to stick close to home for spring break week. My dad escaped the polar vortex up north to keep us company and there hasn’t been a dull moment. Never is with 3 kids under 5, I suppose. We’ve spent the majority of our time outdoors and are working on a backyard garden project. Let’s just say I’m completely out of my element but luckily have a handy dad with a green thumb. As much as I love travel and all things wanderlust, being at home has never been better. No packing, no stressful airport situations, no pressure for the perfect vacation, just downtime and quality time with family.

Today’s look is the last resemblance you’ll see of winter for a long time. When temps drop below 60 it’s cold enough for me to break out a velvet bomber jacket. I’ve blogged a few bombers this season but this one is my absolute favorite. I waited to snag it on sale and have had a lot of fun in this floral embellished velvety getup. Thanks to Prada’s recent fall 2017 fashion week lineup of all things lavishly embellished , I’ll feel right on trend breaking this out again later this year. For now though, I’m still on my way out of winter by pairing velvet with white pumps and this killer steal of a clutch; both white accessories are on the docket for lots of upcoming spring and summer outfits.
