I can’t believe summer is officially over for me. It was an action-packed whirlwind couple of months of non-stop travel. I feel like I’ve been running on adrenaline, packing and unpacking to repack, and now that I’m finally home completely wiped out. Do you think anybody would notice if I sneak off to the spa for a few days?! Maybe when my kids are 20! Instead this week will be inundated with work catch up and last minute prep to get the kids ready to head back to school.
The upside of the post summer vacation blues is that with summer’s end comes a new schedule and change in routine. I’m craving more consistency after the 3 month anti-schedule that was summer. The kids are ready, I’m ready, let’s do this!!!
I will say we’ve had a lot of lazy mornings so the one thing about back-to-school I’m dreading is early morning productivity; getting kids up, fed, dressed and to the carpool line on time may take a miracle. After years of denial, I’m finally here to report that I’m not a morning person. After hitting snooze multiple times, my get-ready time will surely be compromised when school starts. So here’s my go-to back-to-school getup; jeans, a tee, light blazer and slides. What’s your no brainer weekday wardrobe routine? My mantra is stick to what works, whether it be a blazer or Lulu leggings, and cross wasting time on wardrobe anxiety off the back-to-school schedule!
