I’ve wanted to go to Coachella since I was a college infant child chasing around Phish and Dave Matthews Band. And as much as I’m dying to see so many of this year’s bands perform, I think I missed the boat for hanging with thousands of over-served, sweaty mostly teenage or twenty-something hipsters in the middle of the dessert. Although maybe totally worth it to see so many great bands in one spot. I couldn’t sneak away this year, so I’ve got my Cold War Kids on Pandora and I’m going to Cochella in my mind. I can’t think of a brand more representative of Cochella style than Free People. I found the perfect Coachella-FOMO look at Nordstrom. It was a challenge getting out of the store without stocking up on so many awesome spring and summer staples. Anyway, my music festival outfit of choice starts with the oh so trendy off-the-shoulder top and ends with some rockin’ cool-lottes.
I’ve had my eye on different versions of a white off-the-shoulder top since last spring. Off-the-shoulder is getting hotter by the minute. It makes perfect sense to me. I think a women’s shoulder area is such a beautiful part of the body and I’m as excited as any to show a little shoulder over the ever popular midriff area when croptop is king. I was beyond excited when I found Free People’s version of this white it-top. The tunic cut is super flattering and I love that I can throw it in the washing machine when one of the girls wipes her queso on it or maybe their Mama spills a little margarita at dinner. The price is right too, at under 80 bucks. And these linen culottes are perfect for hot summer temps. I love that this pair has a denim-y vibe. They’d also look awesome with this bright yellow lace camisole and these gladiator sandals.
