Does anyone else feel like there are more and more diet-related resolutions infiltrating your feed every January? One of our resolutions is somewhat in this realm: getting out of recipe ruts. There’s simply no excuse in this day and age not to get creative in the kitchen with the abundance of recipes available at our fingertips on all the amazing food blogs and cooking websites out there.
So, we’re kicking off a new series today with this week’s meal plan. Our hope is that everyone can pull at least one idea to inspire their own menu for the week as we aim to make everything approachable and healthy-ish! So, without further ado, meet the first L. Avenue meal plan:
Tonight, we whipped up Asian Lettuce Wraps from one of my favorite food bloggers (and close friends!) Marcia Smart of Smart In The Kitchen. Love how she incorporates fresh, seasonal flavors into all her nutritious recipes.
TUESDAY: Alison Roman’s Chickpea Stew
Tomorrow, we’ve got this Chickpea Stew on tap. This went absolutely viral on the web in December, and I’ve been craving the warm, earthy flavors since then! Very excited to join everyone else and see what the hype from this Alison Roman recipe is all about. Bonus points for its healing power ingredients like turmeric at this time of year.
WEDNESDAY: New York Times Turkey Burgers
I subscribe to Cooking with New York Times and look forward to their recipes every single Sunday. Their turkey burger recipe caught my eye, and it’s been a go-to ever since! Happening Wednesday night!
THURSDAY: Strong Take-Out Game – seeking recs!
We’re hosting a dinner party on Friday night, so I have zero shame in my take-out game for Thursday! Houston peeps: any good recs?! Thinking fajitas may do the trick!
For our party guests, we’re whipping up garlic and herb roasted shrimp by the queen herself, Ina Garten. My hostess plan is to snag a couple crispy baguettes to soak up the sauce, whip up some sticky rice and serve pickled veggies and gourmet cheeses as apps. And of course, all the wine!
