Lately, I keep getting asked, “when are y’all getting Jack a dog.” I do think boys and dogs are pretty darn cute, but am not yet ready for pets. We rolled the dice with a pet goldfish, whom I became very smitten with. From what I hear, he lasted longer than most, but at the end of his 3 week duration as our first official pet, I was really attached and sad to see him go. The kids were really into feeding him for a whole 2 days, and then it was up to me to keep little Goldie living the sweet life. I realized that the role of pet parent falls mostly on the mom (or dad) when you’ve got young kids and for that reason I’ll find pet fulfillment in pet handbags. Ha!
I’ve been collecting novelty bags for years, and recently I’ve been on an animal bag kick. Today’s parrot bag is quite possibly my favorite bag of all time. It’s so bright and quirky and a really fun little conversation piece. I feel like the older I get the more I’ve lost my ability to small talk, so a pet handbag seems to pull me through any awkward conversations that might impose. “Hey, look at my pet parrot!!”
Back to today’s outfit, shall we? I found this green sweater top online and have worn it 3 times this past week. It’s such a good green and goes with denim, culottes and shorts quite nicely! I’m most often going to rock this with white flared culottes, my bottom choice for summer 2018! They are flattering and look equally laid back and cool with slides or a dressier summer sandal.
