I cannot believe that Halloween is just weeks away. I feel like fall happened faster this year than in the past, maybe it’s because Houston has been catching up from Harvey or maybe it’s because I’m busy juggling these three kiddos and a job. Anyway, I wanted to be proactive about something super duper important…..the Halloween costume! My deep dive into brainstorming costumes may have left dishes in the sink, an overflow of laundry and mail yet to be opened, but hey, Halloween is only once a year! Priorities are in line over here y’all! Ha!
I wanted to come up with 3 easy costumes that you might just have hanging in your closet! Or you may be able to order quickly and then post Halloween you’ve got a cute outfit instead of costume you’ll never wear again. Shopping math!
So here we go! First up, the tin man! This is a great family costume idea, by the way! I ordered Charlotte’s witch costume here and Jack’s lion here. I’m dressing my Dad as the scarecrow and hoping I can get Bret to be this quirky costume. And last by not least my talented friend Esther of Cuteheads, is making Leighton a custom Dorothy costume!
Next up, the bank robber! If you own black and white stripes (which most of us do!), you can easily rock this costume for Halloween. Order an eye mask and a toy gun online and the rest is probably hanging in your closet!
And last and probably the easiest given the current 70’s trends, the hippie! This is an easy last minute costume, especially for me because I’ve been having a hippie moment in my own wardrobe. Bell sleeve top, flares, denim, a scarf headband and some circle lens glasses and you’re groovy baby!
