Ever since the new Marriott Marquis opened last year in Downtown, we have been wanting to find a reason to check it out. I mean, there’s a lazy river in the shape of Texas! What’s not intriguing about that? This month we finally were able to say “bye-bye!” to the kids so Mom and Dad can go enjoy a staycation at the Marriott!
The Marriott Marquis really does live up to the hype. It features comfortable and modern rooms with scenic views, restaurants, bars, a spa and fitness center, and can’t forget about that amazing pool area – there is no reason to leave the property! Perfect staycation set up.
But, if you’re itching to get out, you don’t have to walk far. Minute Maid Park is two blocks away and we spent one of our evenings watching baseball and fireworks. First time in a long time that we showed up to a game early and stayed until it was long over. Saturday was spent by the pool and lazy river with the Frose Rose cocktails continuously flowing. A storm hit and closed the pool for a little while but that didn’t stop anyone from enjoying the bar scene down at Biggio’s in the hotel lobby.
There really is something going on at all times so it’s impossible to get bored. The staff is very accommodating and kind. And with the Marriott app, check-in and check-out is easy. You can even request services (like extra towels) right from your phone!
Really, you don’t need a REASON for a staycation here. Whether it’s a birthday, anniversary, girls weekend, or just because – I’m already finding a way to get back!
