I’ve never been more excited about Super Bowl week until it’s happening right down the road from me. H-town is all a buzz with Super Bowl 51 in town. And perfect timing for Houston to add a chic, new hotel to our resume. The “new” Four Seasons Houston was recently unveiled after a multimillion dollar renovation and let me just say, “We’re not in Houston anymore.” This place is so chic, so swanky. It oozes cool. I love my city, but we’ve been neglected as far as hotels with good atmosphere are concerned. Back in December Bret and I talked about sneaking away for a staycation but none of the hotel options were really exciting me that much. So we tabled the idea for 2017. When Four Seasons reached out to tell me about the hotel’s new look and amenities, I was quickly back on board with making getaway plans.
Our quick 24 hour staycation a tFour Seasons Houston was A-MAZING…..
At the brand new spa, it was easy to get zen quickly. I was greeted with the scent of lavender and instantly felt more relaxed. I didn’t even make it to the massage room before feeling totally at ease with life, a nice detour from the craziness that is life with three little kids. The spa locker room looks like a favorite bathroom Pinterest board. I could have hung out there all day. But a couple’s massage was calling my name.
After the spa, we headed to the pool for a swim and frozen moscow mules…not bad for a January Saturday.
Quite possibly my favorite “new” Four Seasons update is the Bayou & Bottle bar just inside the hotel lobby. This chic bourbon based bar concept is unique to Houston. With craft cocktails on trend, Bauou & Bottle has over 100 bourbons and whiskeys at your service. There’s no doubt you’ll find your new favorite drink here. The food was also delicious, we sampled the gulf snapper crudo and a decadent bone marrow & oxtail dish served atop brioche toast. Chef Richard Sandoval does not disappoint.
I couldn’t help but strike a pose when I saw this book titled “Are those kids yours?” in the flawlessly styled bookshelves behind our table at Bayou & Bottle. “Nope!”is my response for the evening. We were kid free and loving our adult beverages and convo.
Breakfast in bed was the perfect end to our staycation. I’m already plotting my next staycation escape back to this fabulous Houston hotel.
