winter uniform

December 12, 2016

When it comes to dressing for Texas winters, I’m all about big cardigans and layers galore. No matter how cold it is, I spend a lot of time in the car running kids to carpool and activities and I’m always taking off layers in the car and then throwing them back on throughout the day. Nordstrom’s winter collection had the perfect layering pieces to refresh my winter uniform. I’ve had my eye on this cardigan from Nordstrom for months and finally pulled the trigger.  I bought it a size larger because I like to wear it open for an oversized look. Plus layering is way cuter when your outer layer isn’t skin tight. A white button down is a classic staple and I have one in a few different lengths. Post baby, a longer style is a lot more flattering too. And then later on, I’ll switch to a shorter version and tuck in with a fun belt.

The winter shoe selection at Nordstrom is also on point this season. I’m a huge fan of Sam Edelman shoes –they’re affordable and always on trend. I tend to pick up at least one pair every season. This winter, I wanted to find a chic, closed toe bootie that I can also wear while running non-stop with the kiddos and this pair totally fits the bill. The heel isn’t too high and they’re comfortable and go with everything.  And they’re on sale for under $100. Kind of a no brainer. I like this pair, as well for an even lower heel.

And lastly, I’m having a moment for all of the bag brands I was way into back in the early 2000’s–Coach being one of them. Coach’s accessory game has been on point lately and this bag is super fun but also neutral enough to carry on the reg. I dig.
