How was the weekend? Ours was pretty laid back, as I expect most to be until this baby comes. I’m 35 weeks on Monday, so weekends as a family of 4 are pretty numbered at this point. This time my last pregnancy I was in the hospital on bed rest, so I’m hoping to avoid that and let this baby cook just a little longer. My hormones are pretty up and down at this point. I literally cried my eyes out after church when Bret offered to give me some chill time while he took the girls to play at his brother’s house. I mean, isn’t this such a nice gesture that any mom should gladly accept even if she had nothing to do but sit down and read a magazine? I can’t remember the last time I did that. I guess I’m just nervous/anxious about how our family dynamic will change with a new baby and feel like I need to soak up every last drop as our time as a family of 4. Don’t get me wrong, I’m beyond excited about another blessing from God, just anxious and hormonal it appears.
Sorry for the digression there. In other news, I’m so glad fall temps are finally here. Fall in Houston is still pretty warm so this maroon dress is perfect for church, luncheons and events this fall. I think I’ll like it even more post baby because well, satin just isn’t as flattering on a baby bump. Or at least on my bump. The shift silhouette is perfect for layering a button down underneath because it’s not super clingy. Unless you’re carrying a basketball on your waist.
I’m excited to layer it with this top post baby. And love it paired with tights and a black bootie. It would also be super cute with this on trend bomber jacket. And how cute is J. Crew’s mini bag?! My baby is officially bigger than this bag now. Ha. Yet another piece I’m more excited to wear post baby. As much as I love the mini trend, I find that bigger bags look better next to a baby bump. I’ve definitely been on an accessories kick lately and my latest obsession is from designer Rebecca De Ravenel’s. If you haven’t heard her name yet, you’ve probably at least seen her les bonbons earrings all over Instagram. They are hard to find, but are sold in stores at Ann Mashburn and online here.
