Happy Friday and Easter weekend, friends! The holiday and current Houston weather conditions are both signs spring is officially upon us. As far as clothing is concerned this means all things pastel (pink bags, please), light wash jeans and breaking out the sandals.
A spring closet cleanse is in order while I swap out winter wardrobe items for spring and summer. Here’s ten things to toss. Then, treat yourself to this Yumi Kim Friends & Family sale—25% off all items in-store and online!
Speaking of friends and family, I hope you spend quality time with yours with this weekend. This TED talk provides every reason to invest in these relationships; the research says “people who are more socially connected to family, to friends, to community, are happier, they’re physically healthier, and they live longer than people who are less well connected.” It’s obvious, but also serves as a good reminder to seize opportunities like this weekend to make the most of this time together.
Currently, I’ve been inspired by a local cause, The Butterfly Project, using art to create connections and inspire positive conversation about the past to build a better future. Here’s more on what the Holocaust Museum Houston is doing to inspire hope in the community. More to come on an event I recently attended for the cause and the exhibition in the works.
I hope you these five things from around the web help you feel inspired to start fresh this new season—in your closet, your community and with your loved ones.
