You know the feeling when you try on a dress and it hugs you tight in all the right places and cuts you some slack in all the wrong places aka problem areas? That’s the feeling I get every time I wear a Black Halo piece. If you haven’t tried this line, you must, you must. Let’s be honest, no women is ever perfectly pleased with every last body part. Even if we think someone (agh hem Giselle) is perfect, I’m sure she thinks her nose is too pointy or her elbow is too fat (ha!). Clothes can truly make or break a woman’s confidence. And I can say that both Black Halo dresses I’ve worn have halted any whining about “mommy flab” and my hipless, boy body type. I feel confident, sexy and classically chic all in one dress. And I promise you, there’s a dress for every body type too. Think smart ruching, precise tailoring and pieces that just make sense for the modern day woman. I had the pleasure of sitting down with designer Laurel Berman over dinner and after hearing about the intense, time consuming “fitting” process involved in getting each style just right it’s no surprise she’s created a cult following. Girl crush, confirmed.
