lashing out.

November 12, 2014

About a month ago I was hanging out on a random Monday afternoon with my best friend and her kids and I couldn’t help but notice how pretty she looked. Was it a new haircut? Recent facial maybe? She’s one of the prettiest girls I know but something was different and I couldn’t put my finger on it. Lucky for me, she let me in on her beauty secret. New mascara! She then gave me a quick 5 minute tutorial on her new mascara regimen. I have to admit, I was skeptical at first. It’s three steps?! I mean, I barely have time to brush my teeth most days and mascara is a luxury I save for red lights and the car pool line. After my first attempt at the application, I loved how my eyes looked but wasn’t completely sold. It was slightly messier than my typical mascara and the time factor was still stressing me out. After more compliments on my eyes in one day than I’d received in months, I’m suddenly whistling a different tune, but planned to save my new mascara for special occasions/nights out only. I wore it to my birthday party and after a really fun night, was too lazy to remove make-up (don’t judge, 33 is a big one, haha). But the greatest thing of all was it didn’t feel like I slept in my mascara. Maybe because it’s all natural? This mascara includes beeswax and collagen that actually build up and strengthen lashes and green tea fibers too. I mean, they might as well sell this stuff at Whole Foods. But seriously, I didn’t wake up with my eye lids stuck together and my eyes looked really good the entire next day. Win, win! I now find it hard to go back to my old mascara most days. Now the three steps (gel + fiber + gel) are so routine I don’t even bat a long eyelash at them. Ha! And an added bonus, this mascara requires no need for eyeliner. It opens my eyes like no eyeliner ever has. I’m a huge fan and highly recommend this new favorite to y’all! Get your fab new lashes here just in time for holiday parties!

p.s. I’m well aware that I didn’t post a “before” photo, but it’s just too scary. I’m a huge fan of all of the Hollywood celebs going sans make-up on a public platform though!
