First comes love, then comes, marriage, then comes a puppy to better prepare for the baby carriage. If you ask me, that’s how the song should be written. We skipped the puppy step and went straight to babies so it’s been hard to wrap our heads around a furry family member. I’ve bugged B about getting a dog time and again, but always snap to when it comes to the poop. Yep, I said poop (twice!) Sorry, it’s the truth. Maybe when both kids are out of diapers I’ll be ready for the additional clean-up again. Anyways, LE has been extremely dog averse from day 1. ¬†Naturally, Mom guilt sets in because maybe if we had a pup ourselves she wouldn’t freak out at the sight of one. We have lots of friends with dogs and it has been pretty dramatic attempting to hang out in harmony around their four legged family members. I know how frustrated our friends must feel when they’re forced to choose between a screaming toddler and their prized pet. And this kiddo screams pretty loud. The dogs don’t stand a chance–locked up when the Z’s come to visit. Hopefully this is just a stage that she’ll grow out of sooner rather than later. The poor thing. I’ve started going out of my way to show LE that dogs are our friends. Petting every dog we come across and pointing out how much fun they are to play with. Maybe wearing a doggie tee on the reg will help support my pro-doggie case to my two-year-old. ūüėČ
