I’ve never been much of a gambler. I love Vegas for many, many reasons, but the gambling part isn’t even close to the top of the list. My top 5 reasons to love Vegas: 1. people watching 2. energy 3. entertainment (shows, concerts, #1) 4. shopping! and 5. food is my top 5, so I guess gambling would fall in somewhere after that. I mean, I’m totally willing to throw dice a couple of times or play a few hands of cards but once I’m down more than $50, I’m out. I’d much rather spend any and all allocated gambling funds on #4 listed above. This trip, I decided to give gambling another whirl. B loves black jack and after being a good wife spectator for one too many hands (it kind of feels like watching someone else play Nintendo–yep, just totally dated myself, but there’s no better comparison out there), I decided to jump into the ring. And I can’t even believe what I’m about to tell you, thank goodness B and my cousins can actually back up this story. All I know is my $25 in chips turned into $600 in a matter of minutes. I couldn’t lose!! Hand after hand, high-fiving and squealing like a school girl. I hear this is what you call a “heater.” Whatever the term, I now totally get the draw to pressing your luck in Vegas. It’s pretty darn exciting. And when dealt the first bust hand, I cashed in my chips and called it a day. You were good to me this time, Vegas. But as they say, the house always wins. 😉
Happy Monday, y’all!
P.S. Where I’ll be spending my winnings.
